Will Snowden:
“The Importance of Jury Service and the Role Diversity Plays in Case Outcomes”
This CEU will provide an educated, critical primer in understanding that juries lack diversity, and not simply that they lack diversity of color, but also diversity of thought, experience, and socioeconomic background. This CEU discusses the lack of representation, driven by the strategic exclusion of minorities during the selection process, legal barriers to jury participation, and also misconceptions about jury duty that discourage participation.

“Demystifying and Celebrating the Funeral Experience” (with required Crematorium Tour)
This CEU will provide a carefully designed experience to deepen participants’ understanding of the funeral’s role in healthy grieving. Through guided discussions, practical insights, and a required crematorium tour, attendees will explore the emotional, cultural, and logistical dimensions of funerals. This course aims to empower participants to support families with compassion and clarity by shedding light on the funeral process—from planning and costs to cremation practices and the pivotal role of the Funeral Director. (Note: this is a different CEU than the one provided in Summer 2024)

Sheila M. Wilkinson: “Creating, Protecting & Enforcing Ethical Boundaries as a Social Worker”
This CEU will provide a clear, proven, sustainable, and repeatable framework for setting ethical boundaries in practice settings. This CEU will go directly to the heart of the reason why Social Workers often have poor boundaries with Clients, Colleagues, and Communities. Over the course of the day, and framed within multiple curated, reflective, and action-oriented planning activities, Social Workers will examine one unique situation in which it has been difficult for them to create the ethical boundaries they need and want, and by the end, will create a plan of action to implement that ethical boundary.
🍽️ Lunch Break between 12:45 pm and 1:30 pm
🍽️ Networking Breaks incorporated into the morning and afternoon sessions
COVID-19 / FLU / VIRAL NOTICE: In the event of cancellation, changes, or challenges related to health concerns, no refunds will be given. Instead, CREDIT for future CEUs will be provided to all attendees, and we’ll do what we can to reschedule within the same collection year. Some of our speakers and attendees live in high-risk households. Because we care about your health (and ours!), we have decided that KN95 masks (or better) will be required for our In-Person CEUs and we’ll provide this to you upon check-in. Disposable, surgical masks are not allowed. If you are sick, or not feeling well, DO NOT ATTEND. You will receive credit for future CEUs to attend. We reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are indicating symptoms of illness (i.e. coughing, sneezing, runny noses, chills, etc.), even if you are wearing a mask. We will always put the health of the entire group first. We have every intention of ensuring this will NOT be a Super Spreader Event. To ensure you are COVID- or Flu-negative, we may ask you to test and provide proof of a negative test before allowing entry.
